Where does the tutoring take place?

Teaching takes place in your own home or in a preferred location. In-home tutoring is usually most convenient for students and their parents, and allows for fewer distractions. However our tutors are flexible and can arrange for an alternate location.

When should I schedule a tutoring session?

It is recommended to schedule a tutoring session at the start of school year.

What happens if I miss an appointment?

If you are not able to keep your scheduled appointment, notify the Tutor either by phone or
 Facebook Messenger at least 24 hours prior to the start of your session. 
Three consecutive cancellations will put the client into “as needed status”, meaning their 
schedule will now depend upon tutor’s availability and upon their request.

How often can I use tutoring service?

The number of sessions students are able to use tutoring services is unlimited, during Monday to Friday.

Can I schedule a tutoring session for longer than an hour?

Yes, especially if the student have an upcoming exams.

Sessions can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance.

What is tutoring not?

Tutoring is not expecting someone else to do your work, or make up for not attending class. It's meant to support classroom time.

What are the subjects that UP Learn Tutorial Services support?

We currently support all subjects from Grade 1-6, and focus subject in Grade 7 and up.
*Focus Subject- one subject, mainly the most difficult subject for the student, that the tutor will focus.

Tutors are undergraduate students or graduate professionals,, who have successfully 
completed the courses they tutor. Tutors are possessing helpful skills, knowledge, and
insights they can pass along to other students.

Will I get the same tutor every time?

No.  Especially if the tutor is not available at specific time due to uncontrolled reasons.
However we will give you the choice to move the schedule or to request a reliever tutor.
Without those situations, you can expect to get the same tutor.

Yes. We understand the many different ways that children learn and how best to adjust our 
teaching style to help them.

Do you provide an assessment?

Yes.  We provide written assessment tests, just request at your assigned tutor. 
 
The tests is used to evaluate student's knowledge and skills. While the student writes 
the assessement test the assessor observes the student and asks questions to evaluate his or her study habits, learning style, thinking process, and stress management.  The results 
are presented orally or in a detailed written report.  The written report of the assessment is 
an important Blueprint that the tutor can use to plan and conduct lessons with the student.
